Car Insurance Mitsubishi (Car Insurance). how could I save up for a nice first car?how could I save up for a nice first car? hey, I have just turned 15 guys and I I would reallly like my own car for when I am 17. I have 2 years to save up for a first car and my target is about 8,000. I do not really have a job, I reff on weekends at 16 dollars a game and usually get 2-3, I also mow my dads lawn and I could use some suggestions on some other ways to get some money for a first car. thanks guys You're gonna have to get a job then. NO other way to save $8,000 in 2 years without a job. Many amusement parks and places like that hire in the summer and hire teenagers as young as 14. That's how I got my first job (minimum wage back then was 6.85). We worked all day, they gave us plenty of hours. There were a lot of 15 year olds like you who were DETERMINED to get a car, so they would work 11 hour days (plenty of breaks) and have $500 checks! you have the two things you need, time and determination Auto parts : Trailer Lock Acura 1995 . Need Car Audio Expert Opinion/Advice? Need Car Audio Expert Opinion/Advice? I have a 97 Camaro equipped with Boston S60 component speakers in the front, 6.5 coaxial xplods on the rear, and 2 Rockford Fosgate P3 12s on the trunk. I have the subs powered with a 2 channel Rockford Fosgate amp, and the 4 speakers powered by a 2 channel Xplod Amp. Now to the issue, I find the rear speakers to be overpowering my components in volume, and since they are all wired to a 2 channel amp there is no way of adjusting the fade to control the volumes. I originally bought the Xplod amp to power just the Boston components but the guy at the install shop convinced me it would be best to have all 4 hooked up to an amp, although he did suggest a 4 channel amp, I had already bought the amplifier because it was intended just for the 2 components. The sound is not really working for me since I am getting more volume from the back speakers, so would you suggest I go out and buy a decent 4 Channel amplifier? Or just amp the components and power the rear speakers through the head unit? I have read that rear speakers should be mainly for filling and that for staging purposes the front components should always be louder than the rear speakers. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Mitsubishi . How Do I Rust Proof a Car?Cars are major investments and they experience a tremendous amount of wear and tear that depreciates their value. The natural tendency of unprotected metal is to rust or corrode when it is exposed the elements such as salt, acids, water and humidity. Rust is ugly and it makes the car unsafe. There are two ways to protect your car against rust--do a periodic paint touch up and apply a rustproofing material. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Touch up paint Paint brushes Wire brushes Rustproofing fluid Compressor Protective eyeglasses MaskPaint Touch Up Step by Step : 1 Check the car for nicks and scrapes. Rust usually starts in the little nicks where the paint has been worn off. Nicks and scrapes come from the daily use of an automobile. 2 Remove rust. Put on protective eyeglasses and a mask. Clean off the rust using a medium grit sandpaper. To reach into small areas, wrap the sandpaper around a screwdriver. 3 Clean the surface. Make sure to remove any grease or oil with a damp rag and mineral spirits. 4 Paint all the bare spots with touch up paint. Painted surfaces won't rust. There are two options for matching the paint on your car. A paint technician can make an exact match by analyzing a paint sample. The second option is a computer match. This is done by scanning the color and producing a paint formula that is close, but not exact. The first option is more expensive. Always test the paint on a inconspicuous area of the car before you apply it to obvious surfaces. You need to apply a primer coat on bare metal before you apply the paint. Use a paint pen to apply paint to areas smaller than a pencil eraser. Use spray paint for larger areas. Do not paint in direct sunlight. 5 Check the car periodically for nicks and scrapes. Also pay special attention to the undercarriage and the wheel wells. These are common areas where rust occurs. Rustproofing Step by Step : 1 Rent a compressor and spray gun. This is the best tool for getting into all the nooks and crannies. 2 Clean the car. Before applying the rustproofing fluid make sure that the car is clean. Pay special attention the the undercarriage and the wheel wells. You can use a wire brush on road grime that is particularly difficult. 3 Apply the rustproofing fluid. Make sure your spray reaches under the hood, the front doors, the back doors, the trunk, the undercarriage and the wheel wells. Don't spray excessively. 4 Be careful around lights and plastic. Rustproofing fluids contain solvent vapors that are highly flammable. To avoid the risk of fire, keep the the rustproofing fluid away from sources of heat and ignition. The fluid will also damage plastic. Make sure to wipe off any fluid that gets on the plastic. 5 Wipe off the excess. This completes the process. Tips & Warnings If you are applying the rustproofing materials indoors, make sure to use proper ventilation.
Mitsubishi . How to Patch a Rust Hole in a CarFor some people, rust on their vehicle is just a way of life. Salt on icy winter roads and the coastline humidity in certain areas contribute to the body eating cancer. A perfectly running and appearing vehicle can take on the appearance of a junkyard warrior in a matter of months. Body shops charge high prices to repair rust damage, but you can repair it at home with a minimum amount of tools and knowledge. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Rusty car Sanding block or power sander Sandpaper Plastic body filler Cream hardener Plastic applicators Paper plates or cardboard Window screen Primer Paint Step by Step : 1 Identify the problem. Finding a rust hole is easy, but it may be larger than you think. Tap around the edges of the rust hole to find the strong metal. 2 Prepare the body panel. Use a sanding block with 60- to 80-grit sandpaper to remove the paint and rust from the area requiring repair. Make random passes at 45-degree angles to each other to insure a good tooth for the body filler to adhere. 3 Work the area out a few inches from the actual rust. This will allow you to be able to feather out the filler. 4 Mix the body filler. Place some body filler (about the size of your fist) onto a paper plate or a piece of cardboard. Apply the cream hardener across the body filler, following the filler's directions for the proper amount to use. Mix it in until your filler is a consistent color. Do this quickly because the filler will begin to cure and harden immediately. 5 Apply the filler to the panel. Use a plastic applicator and spread the body filler onto the prepared area using thin layers and working in the same direction. This will help to eliminate air bubbles in the hardened filler. This involves mixing several batches of filler and hardener and allowing the coats to harden between applications. 6 Place a piece of window screen inside large rust holes to help hold the body filler in place and build the filler off of the screen. 7 Remove excess filler. Once the filler is cured, use 80-grit sandpaper to sand and contour the body filler and blend the repair into the surrounding metal. Use 120-grit sandpaper to sand and feather the repair into the body panel. Run your hand over the repair occasionally while sanding to assure you are sanding the surface level. 8 Paint the repair. After repairing the rust hole, apply a light coat of primer and allow it to dry. Following your primer manufacturer's directions for application, apply several light coats until the repair is well covered. Sand the primed repair with 600-grit sandpaper and apply paint to the area following the manufacturer's recommendations for spraying. Tips & Warnings Allow the repair to sit a few days prior to sanding off the plastic body filler to make the repair stronger. This allows the filler to shrink, making the sanded area more stable. Never try to warm plastic body filler with an open flame. Fire and injury to you and the vehicle can occur.
